We recently embarked on a thrilling 3-day adventure in the Lake District, and it was a trip to remember. Here are the highlights of our unforgettable journey:
Hardknott Pass: The hair-raising drive along Hardknott Pass which is not for the faint of heart or for those who do not have total faith in their vehicle! provided us with incredible views that took our breath away. The winding roads and steep gradients added an extra thrill to our journey.
Windermere: Despite it being a bank holiday Monday and a bit crowded, Windermere still had its own charm. We enjoyed strolling along the lakeside promenade, witnessing the iconic steamboats gliding across the water.
Ullswater: This stunning destination quickly became one of our favourites. We rented a motorboat from St. Patrick's Boat Landing and cruised along the glistening water, surrounded by majestic mountains. It was a truly memorable experience, and the cost of £60 for 2 hours was excellent value compared to other family attractions. We also treated ourselves to some delicious ice cream in nearby Glenridding village.
Aria Force:During our Lake District adventure, we had the pleasure of visiting Aria Force waterfall, this stunning waterfall captivated our senses. The rushing water cascaded down the rocks, creating a mesmerizing display of nature's power. It's a perfect spot to immerse yourself in the tranquility of nature and appreciate the beauty of the Lake District. Aria Force waterfall is a must-visit for anyone seeking a peaceful and awe-inspiring experience amidst the stunning landscapes of the region.
Accommodation at The Tup Hull: We stayed at The Tup Hull, a historic stone-built hut in the Lake District National Park. This charming retreat, located a short drive from Kendal with easy access from the A6, offered a cozy and authentic experience. Legend has it that Bonnie Prince Charlie himself stopped over at The Tup Hull in 1745 while traveling from Kendal to Shap. Today, it has been converted into a comfortable place to stay, preserving its original fireplace, stone walls, and beams.
